Old family albums often have a great deal of emotion and meaning attached to them, and this was certainly the case with the one that Ms. P. brought to me. It was very important to her that contents of her album be carefully documented, accurately duplicated for digital preservation, and in some cases restored. I carefully disassembled the album, performed high resolution, high bit depth scans of all of its pages, and then reassembled the album. From the scans that I made of album's 24 pages, I extracted the 96 photos that they contained. And now I have begun restoring some of the damaged photographs.
