Scapple Envy: The Perfect Idea Noting Tool That I Cannot Have

Scrapple-Two[1]

I do not want to get into the Mac vs. PC debate. I am just here to confess that, for the first time ever, I have Mac envy.

Well, in truth, what I have is app envy.

This morning, I envisioned a certain kind of tool that would help me with what I am working on, and then I went hunting to see if such a tool existed. I was excited when I discovered Scapple, only to be deflated upon learning that it runs only on a Mac. I love Scapple's concept and design. The developer's statement, "we do intend to bring a port of the software to Windows," gives me hope.

The company's other product, Scrivener, looks brilliant, too. Fortunately that one already swings both ways.  I have downloaded the trial and will be evaluating it.

Both products are tailored for writers. It seems to me though that they could be valuable to anyone who has ideas that they want to develop.

UPDATE 9-Oct-13: Yay!  Scapple is now available for PC!
