Lauren and Terran

It has been an unusually rainy summer here in southern Ontario, but good fortune, and the sun, shined upon Lauren and Terran. Although there was enough wind and variable cloud cover on their wedding day to make photography an interesting challenge at times, not a drop of the wet stuff fell on their outdoor ceremony.

Here are some of my favourite photos from their wedding day. As is often the case with images that I share in my blog, the image quality is at the unfinished preview stage at this point in the process. You will eventually find the finished versions of some of these posted to my galleries.

Lauren's wedding planners were Shelley Da Silva and Sonia Gonzalez of Wedding Wows. The ceremony was held at Liuna Gardens, and the reception at Carmen's.

Beauty And Strength

One of my sidelines is freelance press photography. In May, I received an assignment from Metroland Media to photograph G, the current Miss Teen Southern Ontario. G was giving a short seminar at the Mademoiselle Fitness club in Oakville. I liked the dynamic that I saw when I framed G beneath the banner of a fitness model on display at the club. G's seminar was about nurturing your beauty from within, so the interplay helped the photograph to tell its story.

G's mom liked the photographs that I made during the brief photo shoot, and commissioned me to finish them and license them to her. She is using one of them as the cover photo of G's Personal Profile and Appearance Booklet, being prepared for the Miss Teen Canada pageant.

One More from J's Album

I have just completed the boudoir album for J that I mentioned last week. Along the way, I finished another anonymous one from her set. I love the detail and texture in her bustier.

Jason wanted executive portraits with some edginess and style. We opted for a contemporary look, while being careful to stay generic enough to enable the images to be applied to a couple of different projects that he has in mind. I wanted Jason's portraits to convey his strength and confidence, while retaining his inviting personality. Here are some early previews.

Grad Portraits, Lumacraft Style

Christine's dad Edward wanted some proper grad portraits of his daughter. But while she had the cap and sash, she didn't have the gown, and when she arrived at the studio this morning she had forgotten to bring the jacket for her school uniform. I told them not to worry, that we would adapt. After we finished with the cap and uniform, we did a few fashion style portraits. Great job Chris. And thanks Edward, for going with the flow.

A Glimpse of J's Boudier Pics

These two images are from a boudoir album that I am currently assembling. J commissioned me to create a series of portraits, and will be giving the album to her boyfriend for his birthday in a few days. Since I don't want to ruin her surprise, I am posting just these two anonymous ones for now.

By the way, my boudoir and glamour clients know that it is my policy that I will not publicly display their intimate portraits without their express written consent. These are posted with J's kind permission.

Dave's Family

While outdoor family portrait season is now in full swing, I continue to receive finishing orders from studio portrait sessions that I held earlier in the year, back when the weather was not so inviting. When Dave and his family came up from up from Illinois for a family get together, his extended family gathered at my studio to have me make some portraits.
